The period of time for the submission of Pycon4 talk prposals should have ended yesterday, but we decided to delay the deadline to allow other potential speakers to submit their own papers. The decision has been taken in consequence of the low number of proposals we received up to now, which doesn't allow us to ensure for the event the same quality which has kept strenghtening through the years.
At the present time, we received 27 paper and, in spite of the fact thay they would be enough to arrange a schedule for the event, it would not be possible to proceed to the community vote, as far as the papers would be automatically accepted due to lack of proposals. For the latest edition, by comparison, we got as much as 40 paper to submit to the vote.
We remind you that the community vote allows to select the most interesting talks (and speakers), thus ensuring a most interesting event for the Italian Python community.
We apologize to all the speakers who already submitted their papers, believing that they will agree to the reasons for the delay.
The new deadline for the submission of the papers is Wednesday 17th March, while the community vote will take place from 22nd to 25th March for everyone who buy the ticket within the 25th March itself. The agenda of the conference will be published on 29th March.
This year, to ensure another remarkable Pycon we need the help of the whole community. Here's what you can do to help the association with its activities:
Thanks for your help!
