I have been a python user since version 1.1 and postgreSQL users since before it was called postgreSQL (in ~1995).

I have been using python for lots of different programming tasks from driving NC tools to processing video clips to all kinds of web publishing and search applications. I have also done some small code contributions to python libraries (struct, libxml2) and was quite active in the mailing list in the early days of python.

I am also a heavy user of and an occasional contributor to the postgreSQL database server software. I was the first, and for a few years the only Database Administrator at Skype, where postgreSQL is used as main database engine and python is used for almost all data-related backend tasks.
