Raniero Virgilio

Raniero Virgilio is a senior software engineer at Intel in Shannon, Ireland, where he leads the Test Automation team in the Performance Products Division. In the last six years, he has also worked for STMicroelectronics and Ericsson, gaining deep experience in software testing, at different levels, by means of object-oriented technologies and component-based architectures, from embedded up to distributed systems (Javacard technology, Eclipse SWT/JFace GUI development, Java-EE/Oracle). He is currently leading the XTP project, an extendible test automation platform based on Eclipse, that enforces the Test as a Service model exploiting the Jython technology. He has been author and co-author of papers and talks in many international academic and professional conferences. Raniero has a Master Degree in Physics at Università di Napoli Federico II (Italy), where he has specialized in Cybernetics.
