Privacy Policy

We respect your personal data.

Personal Information

Under no circumstances do we sell, rent or distribute your personal information (including your email address, name, or anything else you entered in your profile) to third-parties entities. Only our system administrators and our support team have access to your data. You can amend and remove any information at any time, from your profile page.

We have striven to make sure that we ask as little personal information as possible throughout the website, both for speakers and for regular participants.

Speakers are asked to submit additional personal information, part of which will become public (eg: full bio). The talk submission form explains what data will be published and what data will be kept private, and each speaker can preview his/her public page before it is made public and can amend its contents at any time.

Participants can optionally opt-in to publish their profile page to other PyCon Italy participants, to help connect during the event.

SPAM-Free Warranty

We will not sell or rent your email to other entities. We respect your choices.

If you subscribe to our newsletter or mailing list, your email address will be used only to deliver list messages, and will not otherwise be used or shared. You can unsubscribe at any time by following the link at the bottom of each email.

If you opt-in to receive job offerings from our sponsors that are looking for hires, no personal information (including name and email address) will be shared with those sponsors: and all emails will go through our systems to protect your privacy. You can opt out at any time from your profile page.

Removing your information

If you want to wipe your account and all the information, you need to write us an email requesting so.

Our staff will erase your data from all files, database records and backups. You will be informed at the end of the process. Information cannot be restored afterwards.

The only exception to data wiping is invoices: if you have bought something on our website, we are legally required to preserve the invoices for 5 years after the emission.

Grants - GDPR

The PyCon Italia is considered a data controller under the terms of the Regulation (EU)

No. 2016/679 (GDPR).

All organizers of the event are required to state their compliance with the rules and regulations of the GDPR.

Dear grantee,

We would like to inform you, as required by the European Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of personal data of individuals, that the data you provide by filling out the grant request form will be processed exclusively by our Financial Aid team for the selection of grant recipients and the processing of financial aid refunds. No data will be transmitted to third parties, except to our accountants, the bank for refund processing, and the embassy. We use Google Forms for the processing and Google Drive for storing the relevant information.

By applying for the grant request, you authorize us to use your personal data, such as your name, age, city or address of residence, contacts such as a phone number or email address, and personal data such as a passport, to collect requests (including yours), organize the event, and manage post-event activities.

Consent to the use of your personal data is always optional. However, without your authorization, we cannot manage your request and participation in the event. For this reason, consent is implicit in the registration, and you provide it when you press the submit button.

It is possible that you may be asked, in the registration form or subsequently via email from someone on our organizing staff, for additional information such as your passport. By requesting the grant, you authorize us to use this data to securely manage your request.

Your personal data will be shared with some organizers who contribute voluntarily to the event, always with the aim of managing your participation correctly. In particular, your contact details, such as phone number or email, will be used by our financial aid team to assist you in the grant and visa request phases.

Your data will also be digitally stored by Python Italia APS, following the security measures provided by the GDPR. We will keep them for the time necessary for the organization of the event, post-event activities, and in any case, not beyond 5 years.

Even if you have given your consent, if you change your mind, you can always request the correction, deletion, or limitation of the use of your data later on. You can make such requests to the Data Controller (see below).

If you want to delete your account and all the information therein, you need to write us an email requesting to privacy@python.it. Please include information proving your identity when requesting the deletion of data.

Our staff will erase your data from all files, database records and backups. You will be informed at the end of the process. Information cannot be restored afterwards.

The only exception to data wiping is invoices and accounting data: if you have bought something on our website, we are legally required to preserve the invoices for at least 5 years after the conference.

The Data Controller for the collected data is Python Italia APS, S. Quirico 233/2, 1 - 50013 Campi Bisenzio (FI), privacy@python.it.

If we ever need to process your personal data for purposes other than those explained so far, we will contact you to provide all the necessary information and to ask for your consent for that specific purpose.

We do not intentionally collect information about minors. If you are under 13 years old and provide us with your personal information, we cannot process your data.

However, if you are over 13 but not yet of legal age and submit your request, you can join us, but we will request that consent for the processing of your data be provided by one of your parents or your legal guardian, along with consent for your participation in the event.
